VirtualCube is an electronic version of the Rubik's Cube. Above you see four instances of a 3x3x3 VirtualCube Spinner, each trying to outdo the other with pretty patterns, not knowing which will get the next turn.

- The basic idea of Rubik's cube game remains the same. But VirtualCube offers much more, you can
- Scramble to play a 2x2x2 or 3x3x3 or 4x4x4 VirtualCube with a button click.
- Click on a directional arrow (not shown in VirtualCube Spinner above) to turn one of cube slices.
- Rotate the VirtualCube or View the VirtualCube in any direction.
- Seek help in SolveAll or Solve1Step button with adjustable animation speed.
- Perform any of the patterns you see above with a button click.
- Setup VirtualCube with any valid scrambled colors and watch it solves.
- Learn to solve the cube with 3 simple tricks that a 10-year-old can master.
Play On-line
- Play VirtualCube v1.1 (freeware) 2x2x2

- Loading the applets takes less than a minute so it is worth a try! To play VirutalCube v1.1 you need a recent web browser (i.e. 1999 or newer). To play VirtualCube v2.0, the browser must support Java 2, unfortunately no browser today does, so you may be prompted to load and install a "Java plug-in" which should take less than 5 minutes.
Download VirtualCube (freeware)
- Click VirtualCube download (<300K) to download vcubefree.zip file to your hard disk, remember its location (i.e. folder).
- Unzip (or extract) vcubefree.zip into a new folder say c:\vcube. It should now contain some .jar files and some .html files and a subfolder called \au.
- To begin play, double-click on vcube12.html, vcube13.html or vcube20.html or enter "C:\vcube\vcube13.html" as your browser address.
- If you have java2 JDK installed (as have most Java programmers), you can use "appletviewer.exe vcube20.html" or "java.exe -jar vcube20.jar" to play.
The VirtualCube iBook
- This (interactive) iBook is what you need if you really want to learn how to solve the cube. The VirtualCube Way to solve 4x4x4 is mastering four tricks, each takes less than an hour. Solving 2x2x2 requires 2 of these while 3x3x3 requires 3 of these. Once mastered, you will remember these simple tricks for the rest of your life. This iBook is what a truly interactive animated book should be in the future. Enjoy these sample chapters. Other chapters from iBook will be made available from time to time.
